We can take so much from the community, whether it be friends, experience, money, but how much do we give back exactly?
I have involved myself in a number of community projects over the years. In doing so, I have been afforded many opportunities in terms of travel, learning, being inspired by awesome people such as Ehon Chan among many others, working on projects that I would have never been able to come close to if I stayed in a normal 9-5 routine.
Just quietly I love the QUT Big Lift because we're giving students this exact experience and more. It's certainly been challenging as I have never had such vested interest in a project before. If I'm not steering the driving wheel, I'm at least changing gears, or channelling a four year old back seat driver who often plays with his McDonald's Happy Meal toy.
For QUT students who are looking for that competive edge on their resumes, or being less superficial and igniting their flame for social investment and community action with a cause, this project is for you.
I can't spruke it enough. Having heard from Mel and Mikaela and all their positive experiences from their Big Lift experience with the University of Technology, Sydney, I cannot wait to take you all with me on a journey that is close to my heart, prospering positive Indigenous community relations through community action. Please make sure you register your interest. This project is dependent on your support, so go on... Register Now
