QUT BIG LIFT

CHERBOURG

Once again we kicked off our trip bright and early in Brisbane. After a brief stop for a break and lunch in Kilcoy we continued to Cherbourg. Again we were awarded the opportunity to visit the Ration Shed Museum. For those new to the Ration Shed, it was an eye opening and rewarding experience, allowing us a brief insight into the strong culture and history of the town and its people. Those familiar to the town also had the opportunity to further their knowledge and gain new experiences with the towns people.

Day two of the trip began at the Murgon PCYC (where we had spent the night). After a quick breakfast we headed back into Cherbourg for service projects. Each of our Big Lifters participated in the projects, tasked to clean up some of the public areas in the town. These projects consisted of gardening, cleaning up at a local café and sorting out the maintenance sheds at the Ration Shed Museum. We then headed to our new home for the night, Eidsvold.
